We approached Ashford Colour Press with a project based plan to reduce the alcohol used on their Heidelberg and KBA presses. Following initial discussions and subsequent fount auditing we worked with the production team to start implementing the required changes. Jason Manchester was responsible for the technical changes within the pressroom whilst Justin Battle worked alongside the production team to deliver the necessary training and to brief them on the new running conditions in the pressroom.

2 years further on the presses at Ashford Colour Press are all still running successfully without alcohol. The company have benefited so far from savings in excess of £5000 and the savings will continue all the time they keep alcohol out of the pressroom.

Rob Hibbard, Production Manager at Ashford Colour Press said “I gave Justin and Jason a challenge last year that if they could get my presses running alcohol free I would buy their Substifix Fount Replacement. They have done a great job and all presses have now been running free from alcohol with no adverse affects having been supported by very good technical back up. A great job well done.
