successfully reviewed, developed, improved and refined
our internal systems within all areas to ensure we
maintain our position as offering the best quality

in February 2001 we successfully achieved the 2000
Standard.
The benefits to our
customers:

competence and awareness

procedures within each function
• Review of suppliers
• Full Identification and Traceability of our

The Environmental
Standard : EN ISO 14001 : 2000
“Today’s Environmental protection
is our quality of life for tomorrow”
Stehlin Hostag Ink UK Ltd are at the forefront of
Environmental Protection and have achieved full ISO14001certification
within the UK. Our Process Models which are used within
our Quality standard framework have enabled us to
achieve much of the environmental standard. Our environmental
policy is based on good management practices and is
reflected in the ‘principles of environmental
protection’ that we have adhered to since 1990.
As a hubergroup company bulk manufacturing
of our range of inks occurs at Stehlin + Hostag Lachen
in Switzerland and Michael Huber in Munich, both these
sites are certified to ISO 14001, and their individual
policies are available below.
Health &
Safety & Welfare Policy : 18001
We are delighted to announce that at our first attempt,
we have attained the OHSAS 18001:1999 specification
relating to Health & Safety. This was awarded
to us in April this year by Moody International who
the only UK Certification body to hold RvA accreditation.
Angela Hayden, HSQ Manager for Stehlin Hostag said
“This is not an easy specification to achieve
and could not be done without the support from everyone
at Stehlin and particular support from David Ward
in allowing me the resources and free hand in order
to achieve our goal. Special thanks go to the auditors,
Paul Hayden, Andy Pike, Molly Bowes, Sue Fowkes and
Ian Richardson. We are now all fully qualified auditors
in all 3 standards and I have now completed all 3
IRCA (International Register for Certified Auditors)
courses (9000, 18000 and 14001) and can qualify for
my IRCA licence of which only 22,000 people in the
world currently have.
Stehlin Hostag worked towards achieving the specification
for many reasons. From an internal perspective, it
was important to confirm our commitment to the continual
improvement of our systems and the Health, Safety
and Welfare of our employees. This is direct reassurance
to all the Stehlin team that we are a company committed
to our employees’ wellbeing. From a customer
perspective, it raises awareness of these ‘internal
commitments’ and also reassures them of our
ongoing efforts as a business to reduce costs and
meet our legislative obligations in connection with
the products and services we promote.
As
a highly quality minded company, we are still working
on achieving the ISO 14001 environmental standard
and hope to receive certification before the end of
this year.
